Payment Terms – Payment for individual participants is upfront, group booking payment terms are based on agreement between the client and service provider.

OPTION 1: Face to Face – 6 hours (minimum) full face to face course.

OPTION 2: Online Training with Face-to-Face Assessment – 90 minutes (minimum) face to face assessment with the addition of self-paced learning to be completed prior to attending the face-to-face course.

This course can be delivered/assessed in the workplace or at facility organised by the training provider.

An individual undertaking this course with Allens Training Pty Ltd will need to demonstrate the following to be eligible for entry:

  • Communication skills sufficient to engage in effective dialogue, and understand complex concepts related to mental health

Online study options:  The online learning program can be found in the student portal. Students must have access to a computer, smart phone, tablet or other electronic device with access to the internet to complete the online studies and practical assessment.

Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks.

This certificate does not require renewal.

No work placement will be required as part of this course.

WHAT HAPPENS AT THE COURSE?

All learning activities are contained in the online course and may be presented in a variety of formats. This may include, but is not limited to: video presentations, slide presentations, online learner manuals, fact sheets, and other downloadable documents.

Practical task demonstrations:

  • Case Study: Demonstrate an understanding of mental health
  • Scenario 1 – Provide Support for a mental health concern
  • Scenario 2 – Provide Support for a mental health crisis

Theory assessment – A written assessment consisting of multiple choice and short answer questions. All questions must be completed.
