HEIGHT SAFETY SUPERVISOR

This training program is intended for staff who must implement local risk controls in working at heights circumstances. This course package is often intended for people who supervise teams who work at heights.

Students will be exposed to a variety of height risk circumstances in this course, and they will learn how to execute safe working practises in accordance with the rules and laws governing working safely at heights. Students will gain knowledge about how to recognise risks, evaluate them, determine which risks are unacceptable, and put those treatments into practise.

The Working at Height Course Brisbane is designed for Safety Supervisors and will provide students the information and abilities to evaluate the risk of worker falls and how to create a rescue strategy in order to fulfil health and safety duties. Participants will exhibit effective implementation techniques and perform rescues with appropriately selected rescue kits.

This competency unit offers the information and abilities needed to recognise and monitor dangers, locate and use rescue tools, and don personal protective equipment in accordance with organisational standards.

You will gain knowledge of the capacities and constraints of rescue apparatus, casualty and manual handling techniques, environmental dangers, personal hygiene, procedures and forms for reporting injuries and accidents in accordance with WHS legislation, ropes and knots, and safety measures during rescue operations.

Payment Terms – Payment for individual participants is upfront, group booking payment terms are based on agreement between the client and service provider.

Important information regarding course durations:

The duration of the working at heights course mentioned above, are reflective of group sizes of between 4 and 15 participants. If there are less students in a group, you may find course duration reduced by a maximum of 10%. If a class size exceeds 15 participants it may therefore also be necessary to increase course duration depending on the number of participants.

This course will be delivered in the workplace or at A Training training facility.

An individual undertaking this course withAllens Training Pty Ltd RTO 90909will need to demonstrate the following to be eligible for entry:

    • Psychological and physical capability to be able to meet the demands of the practical demonstrations for this course, such as the requirements to work safely at heights wearing appropriate PPE and using appropriate fall protection equipment. Participants will need sufficient physical ability to lift equipment infrequently from ground to overhead and access heights above 2m.
    • Protective slip resistant footwear/safety shoes and comfortable/practical clothing must be provided by the student and worn during the practical sessions and assessment.
    • Basic computer skills to complete workplace forms and reports.

Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks.  These are detailed in the sections following.

No industry recommended renewal is identified on the certificate, employers are recommended to consult with stakeholders to identify appropriate training periods.

No work placement will be required as part of this course.

There is no pre-course study for the Working at Heights Course.

The competency needed to take part in rescue operations as a member of a rescue team is covered in the Working at Height Course in Brisbane. This lesson is applicable to a variety of workplace rescue and environmental scenarios, such as industrial, rural, bush, underground, climatic, and other calamities. The course is appropriate for people who will work under supervision but who may also have personal responsibility for particular tasks. Rescue teams for commercial activities, like mines, as well as emergency services and volunteer organisations, carry out the duties of this unit. People in this position often start working as a member of an operational team after completing induction or recruitment training.

For the Working at Heights Course Brisbane, it is recommended that participants should have sound LLN skills (language, literacy and numeracy).  The participant should contact A Training prior to enrolment for a free assessment if they’re unsure whether they meet this requirement.
